Zach Trainor
I played quarterback at the D1, D2 and D3 levels. Now I train QBs full time in Brighton, Michigan, from 8-year-olds to varsity starters, tackle and flag.
Walled Lake Western
I played high school football at Walled Lake Western, where I was named All-State, made the Dream Team, and was a Mr. Football candidate.
From there I played quarterback at the D1, D2 and D3 levels — three programs, three systems, and a lot of different coaches with very different standards for what a quarterback is supposed to know. That range is what I teach from now.
Both sides of the ball
Kurt Warner
I've trained with Kurt Warner — Super Bowl champion, NFL MVP and Hall of Famer — and a lot of how I teach the position traces back to that work.
Steve Wilson
I learned the defensive side from Steve Wilson, who played nine NFL seasons at defensive back for the Cowboys and Broncos, started at cornerback in Super Bowl XXII, and was head coach at Howard University for 13 years.
Studying offense extensively and then being taught defense by someone who coached it at that level is why my training starts with what the defense is doing. You can't beat a picture you can't read.
I know what college coaches look for.
I've been blessed to travel across the country and compete at college camps against some of the best quarterbacks in the country. I know how those evaluations work, what coaches are actually watching for, and what separates the QBs who get looks from the ones who don't.
If your QB is heading toward that process, it's worth understanding before you're standing on the field.
Reads first, always
Reads before mechanics
Both matter. Only one of them is usually missing.
Your program's system
I coach whatever your team runs. No second playbook, no second-guessing your coaches.
One thing at a time
Every session ends with a single rule, not a list of notes.
Parents in the loop
If you can explain what your QB is working on, they get better faster.
I built an app so QBs can rep reads off the field.
Read & Rip puts pre-snap looks in front of your QB between sessions, so the reads we train on the field keep getting reps at home.
The basics
- Based in Brighton, Michigan — you get the field location when you book
- Monday–Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sunday 12:30 – 3:30 PM
- I bring footballs and cones to every session
- Film reports and live chalk talks are remote, so distance doesn't matter
